Joseph Weinzettle lives and works in St Petersburg. He has drawn and painted plein-air across the state of Florida, in West Africa and the Caribbean. His medium is oils on panel. Weinzettle has taught at colleges, community art centers and had guest artist-instructor residences at facilities for students with disabilities. He has worked as a picture framer in New York City and in Florida. He has exhibited his work at the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Ormond Beach Museum of Art and Daytona Museum of Arts and Sciences. Weinzettle was Artist-in-Residence in Everglades National Park in 2010, was awarded the Gottlieb Foundation Grant in 2015 and the Creative Pinellas Professional Artist Grant in 2020. His work is collected by the St. Petersburg College Foundation, Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art, Woodson Museum of African American History and the Curtis Museum of African American History in Pinellas County.
