Zulekha Maria Foulen

Zulekha Maria Foulen is a self-taught Panamanian American artist whose work bridges heritage, healing, and history through acrylic painting, photography, and mixed media. Drawing inspiration from her roots and personal reflections, Zulekha’s art explores themes of identity, memory, and transformation.

Her creative journey began in youth, when she contributed to public art installations for New York City’s subway transit system. Over the years, she continued to create intuitively and sporadically, letting life and spirit guide her brush. She participated in a photography exhibition in St. Petersburg over a decade ago and is now returning to the canvas with deeper intention, exploring projects that honor her cultural lineage and invite reflection, such as her latest work, an artistic tribute to Panama.

Zulekha sees her artistry as a sacred act of storytelling and reconnection, celebrating her heritage and inviting others to reclaim their narratives through color and soul.
