Sam Modder is a globe-spanning talent with roots in Nigeria and Sri Lanka, a childhood in Sri Lanka, and a creative base in Tampa, Florida. A graduate of Dartmouth College (BA in Studio Art and Engineering, 2017) and Washington University in St. Louis (MFA, 2022), Sam blends art and innovation in ways that challenge and inspire.
Currently an Assistant Professor of Art and Design at the University of Tampa, Sam’s work is everywhere you want to be—museums, galleries, public spaces, and even the heart of Miami Beach Art Week. Her artistic adventures have recently been on display at:
Sarasota Art Museum (2024)
African American Museum of Dallas, TX (2023)
Catskills Art Space, Catskills, NY (2024)
Morris Museum, Morristown, NJ (2024)
Miami Beach’s No Vacancy 2023, where she transformed the Catalina Hotel with seven jaw-dropping murals.
When she’s not teaching, exhibiting, or painting the town (literally), Sam’s busy redefining what it means to merge culture, storytelling, and vibrant visual experiences.
