The Transformative Magic of Wearable Art XIV

 

 

Model Candace Tillman, decked out as a lionfish, walked the runway in Johnson Hunt’s show. A former Sunshine State resident and FSU alum, Hunt now lives in and teaches visual arts in Michigan. The designer’s collection for 2018 reflects her vision of Florida’s evolving flora and fauna and how nature and landscapes adapt to the impact of humans and a changing ecosystem. With an awareness of the relationship between the fashion industry and waste, Hunt constructed her pieces out of recycled garments, textiles and plastics.
