We are looking for artists interested in a collaboration with Elementary School age students and their art teacher in creating a new mural!
It’s one of those once in a lifetime opportunities to bring together young minds, dedicated teachers and a professional artist for a mural project designed to engage kids in their power to create, help them build community connections, and explore how they can influence the world through the process of making something.
OVERVIEW:
Creative Pinellas, in partnership with Pinellas County Public Works, has been invited by the Pinellas County school system to create a public artwork based on the desire of the students, teachers and families to engage in a mural project. We are seeking artists who would be interested in working with Pinellas County elementary school children throughout the mural process: from inspiration through installation. The project is slated for completion by May 16, 2022.

$6000 for artist/ up to $1000 for materials

Art Goals:
This is a mural project created to incorporate the children of the community in the inspiration stage of the process for the artist through the installation stage of the project. The goal is to help children participate in the process of art and be able to see that work in their community. Themes and ideas will be discovered through the discussion with the children, the teachers and through information collected at two community meetings and public surveys.
