Born in Bogotá, Colombia, and having migrated to the United States at the age of 10, I developed a personal relationship with creative practices as a way to explore how I view the world. From an early age, I’ve gravitated toward the experimental side of any medium—drawn to reshaping familiar forms and discovering what still holds when the rules are bent.
Whether through music, art, fashion, or writing, the stories that have always captivated me are those that embrace contrast as a natural part of the human experience. This lens has helped me better understand the human condition and approach storytelling with a fresh perspective, even when revisiting ideas that have been told many times before. As an adult, this approach has become something honest and true to who I am—and what I continually aim to offer as a filmmaker.
