First Day of School
Going from “unemployed” to a full-time artist was never easy. It all started one Sunday at church when I was asked to paint during service – immediately after church the artwork sold, which was the beginning of Black Is Beautiful.
In 2019, I would never have expected an iPad gifted from my wife would be the beginning of my new journey. When you wake up drawing and go to sleep drawing art soon becomes life.
This has been one of the greatest transitions of my life. After that Sunday my view of art changed forever.
The next day I created First Day of School, a little girl standing in front of a school bus waiting for her first day.
First Day of School is a portrayal of the beginning of this beautiful journey. The anxiety experienced when stepping into a new light. The great anticipation of a new experience.
