Eileen Marquez recently relocated to the area from Brooklyn, New York. After graduating with a BFA from Florida International University she exhibited her art for over 20 years throughout the New York area and the United States. She was also a docent at the Brooklyn Museum for 10 years where she developed interactive tours of internationally famous artists’ artwork.
Eileen is a studio artist and specializes in oil paintings in which she adds elements of collage to her compositions by gluing pieces of fabric directly onto her canvases. Earlier this year, she exhibited portraits of inspiring women at Woodfield Fine Art, and an interview with Eileen about the show and her art aired on a local news channel.
For her inspirational women series she hopes that these portraits, as well as her other work, “will inspire audiences of all ages to never give up, to learn from each experience, to achieve their dreams and hopes.”
Eileen volunteers at the St. Petersburg Art Alliance and is an artist member of Florida CraftArt and the Morean Arts Center. She also enjoys spending time playing tennis, and visiting art galleries and museums in the Tampa Bay Area.
