For over 50 years, the Dunedin Fine Art Center (DFAC) has flourished by staying true to its mission of enriching lives through educational experiences in the visual arts. DFAC hosts over 30 exhibitions, classes, workshops, and events year-round. We serve thousands of students through our studio courses including culinary arts, printmaking, drawing, painting, jewelry making, wood carving, metal arts, stone carving, photography, art wellness and more.
The Art Center offers 10 weeks of summer camps for children each summer. DFAC has a full-time staff of 20, with over 100 paid instructors, who reside locally or within the state of Florida, with some national and international instructors hired for workshops. DFAC features over 1,500 artists annually, the majority being local and regional artists.
DFAC opened in 1975 as a 2,000 square foot facility when five Junior Service League women (now the Junior League of Clearwater Dunedin) felt the arts were considerably lacking in our area. Today DFAC’s main facility is nearly 50,000 square feet and is home to a cafe, lobby, two formal galleries and five additional exhibition spaces, 21 studios/classrooms, a children’s museum, a fully equipped culinary kitchen for teaching purposes, and a kiln/clay room.
