Brazil is her native country where she studied and graduated in Graphic Design in 1990. Overtime and with experimentation, she realized the need to work more with her own hands, without the computer. It was then Agueda discovered the clay. Her work with ceramics began in 2005 and she have never stopped and never looked back.
A move the U.S. in 2020 opened up new opportunities for Agueda’s involvement with ceramics. St. Petersburg was selected because of its active and substantial arts community. In St. Petersburg, she was warmly welcomed by Clay Center, a supportive and creative environment of shared studios. It is here that Agueda pushes forward with experimentation and continue learning daily.
In 2021, her first American exhibition was at the Art & Design Show in Sarasota, a juried show. In 2022, Agueda participated in the prestigious Art Festival Beth-el, where she received the Award of Excellence in Ceramic. Late 2022, Agueda was selected by Creative Pinellas for its 2023 Emerging Artist Grant.
