In an exciting initiative blending urban beautification with artistic expression, Creative Pinellas, in partnership with Pinellas County and the Lealman Community Redevelopment Area (CRA), has selected a group of talented artists to have their work transformed into public art. As part of the Graffiti Abatement Art Program and increasing public art in Lealman, these artists will see their unique creations wrapped on traffic signal control boxes, enhancing the county’s streetscapes with vibrant, meaningful designs.
The Graffiti Abatement Art Program serves a dual purpose: not only does it add color and creativity to everyday infrastructure, but it also acts as a deterrent to vandalism, fostering a sense of community pride and ownership. The selected artists represent a diverse spectrum of styles, backgrounds, and creative approaches, ensuring that each piece tells its own compelling story. These vinyl-wrapped signal boxes will serve as mini-canvases scattered throughout Pinellas County, turning ordinary intersections into artistic landmarks.
Meet the Artists: Local Creativity
These talented artists will see their work installed on traffic signal boxes throughout Pinellas County in Spring–Summer 2025. This initiative is yet another step in reinforcing Pinellas County as a thriving hub for the arts, providing both residents and visitors with unexpected bursts of creativity in their daily commutes.
