Hey Everyone!
I wanted to officially introduce myself since the Creative Pinellas Emerging Artist Exhibition Opening Reception is happening soon!
My name is Ashley Rivers and I am a Mixed Media Sculpture Artist based out of St. Petersburg, Florida. I have been creating for over 10 years and now work out of my personal studio in the Warehouse Arts District. I also actually just began working as a Fabrication Assistant at the MGA Sculpture Studio.
I began creating as a seamstress and clothing designer throughout middle and high school, and into my first years of college where I actually received a few scholarships, awards, and even a Mayor’s Youth Award for my designing. My heart slowly shifted into working with acrylic paints before finally finding my love for ceramics and sculpture while continuing my education at the University of South Florida.
Since graduating, I have dedicated my time to creating and getting my work into gallery’s and group exhibitions. I have been apart of exhibitions at Mize Gallery, Studio @620, the Contemporary Arts Museum, the Dunedin Fine Arts Gallery, and so many more! I have even been lucky enough to recieve the Individual Artist Grant from the St. Pete Arts Alliance, I’ve been selected as a Local Spotlight for the Gasparilla Festival of the Arts, and now, I was even given the chance to be one of Creative Pinellas’ Emerging Artists!
