WE Convene: Together for the Future of the Arts

Creative Pinellas partnered with the Pinellas Community Foundation to hold a series of public meetings on key topics of importance to the arts community.

Starting in February of 2022, the series was held monthly with a community town hall that landed in October due to Hurricane Ian, originally scheduled in September. The Town Hall was a moment to collectively share what had been discovered and to set the stage for next steps.

The Town Hall attendees experienced an expressive and inspiring keynote by cultural planner, Dr. Linda Flynn PH.D. who shared her expertise with the group.

A special announcement for 2023 was unveiled at the Town Hall! Pinellas County approved the forward motion for a Cultural Plan process to begin. The county has not had a cultural plan put into place since 2005, yes that was before the iPhone and Facebook existed. This was made possible by Creative Pinellas advocating for the opportunity for one in the county, and incorporating the community feedback from the WE Convene sessions held in 2022.
