Details here

The Warehouse Arts District Association, in collaboration with EMIT and Jazz on Arts Axis Florida are hosting a December 1 concert with Helios Jazz Orchestra featuring Fred Johnson – and a roundtable discussion on Food Insecurity and South St Pete Food Deserts.

In South St. Pete, numerous communities grapple with the challenge of “food deserts” – areas where access to fresh and nutritious food is limited or too expensive.

To bring continued awareness to this pressing issue, WADA is hosting a 2-part event that is a noteworthy addition to the Concert Series, aptly titled “Jazz and Politics: Harmony & Discourse.”

During Friday’s event, there will be a roundtable discussion, featuring influential community leaders and advocates for addressing food insecurity in South St. Pete. Participants include community leaders and other prominent figures dedicated to improving food access and fostering community well-being.

Following the discussion, a concert will showcase a talented ensemble of musicians from Helios Jazz Orchestra featuring jazz singer Fred Johnson. Johnson, an accomplished artist with a rich history in music and theater, uses his talents to bridge divides and foster understanding through song and rhythm.

Currently serving as a community engagement specialist and artist-in-residence at the Straz, his creative projects continue to inspire.
