Growing up in the city I was born in I can gradually see the progress in expression of people in my community and in the city of Saint Petersburg; From murals on the side of old buildings to abstract sculptures in the park. Walking downtown and seeing some form of art on almost every block. The importance of this is greater than I can explain. I just know when the younger generations grow up and they see what the mind can create I believe it will encourage them to do the same. Across every city and even around the world , I feel the need for art in any form. I believe it helps cultivate an environment that generates the culture of that area. Art is necessary for us to thrive as people. Imagine how beautiful a city would be if we appreciated art on a personal level. Acknowledging each other’s emotions in the form of art when we can’t articulate what our heart whats to express.
