Visual artist Cory Robinson shared this lovely look behind the scenes as he paints a mural at Raymond H. Neri Community Park in central St. Petersburg’s Lealman neighborhood. You can watch his joyous images emerge on what used to be a blank wall – hours of work all coming together in a two and a half minute video.
The Lealman Mural Project is a partnership between Creative Pinellas and the Lealman Community Redevelopment Area, fostering community beautification projects that engage residents, and create spaces that uplift and represent the rich culture and environment of this developing area.
Murals have also been created in the Lealman neighborhood by Laura “Miss Crit” Spencer, Leo Gomez and Cheryl “Jujmo” Weber. You can find details of all these new works at creativepinellas.org/education/lealman-mural-project.
Cory Robinson is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tampa who primarily works on found windows – his work is colorful and playful, and he wants his art to come across as fun and lighthearted.
