My Muses

Everyone knows an artist pulls inspiration from its muse. I’ve never had one specific muse, but many that have shown up over the years. Each one brings its own inspiration and lesson. If you don’t mind, I’d like to introduce you to some of mine.

I spend a lot of down time alone in nature pulling inspiration. I watch the animals that show up and often animals will come up to me to exchange a message.

There for awhile I kept seeing a fever of stingrays every time I went to the beach. When animals show up repeatedly in my life I’ve learned to slow down and pay attention. Once I receive the message they no longer show up. And sometimes they can be persistent!

Stingrays taught me to stop hesitating and to keep moving forward. To be mindful of the energy I am spending. Remembering that some things take time.

My most frequent visitors have been three female peacocks. I call them “the ladies”. They make sure to get my attention when I am home. I came out of my house the other day to find all three of them waiting for me.

The ladies are teaching me to get comfortable with being noticed and to stand in my truth.

Recently, I was visited by a Wood Stork. It was waiting for me when I came home. In fact, it was in my neighbors yard when I pulled into my driveway and by the time I got out of my car it was right in front of my door! It watched me as I brought in groceries and slowly made its way to my front door as if it was asking to be let in.

This visit felt like a reminder to welcome in new beginnings. I’ve been feeling a lot of pull into the new. Let’s see what 2022 has in store!
