Live in Pinellas äóî July 15-16

A bevy of styles can be enjoyed Saturday and Sunday with bands all ages and decibels making our list. Be sure to check David Morris’ 5 Things to Do for some of the choicest acts this weekend. Here’s what he didn’t cover:

Saturday

Greymarket

When I’m 64 brings us a cream-of-the-crop-of-all-time guitarist gearing up for his big 64th birthday with fans and former bandmates from The Headlights, Uncle Johns Band and the Lesser Gods. Steve Connelly is a nationally recognized producer and äóìprimo Tampa Bay guitar slinger.äó In the 1970s äóìThe Headlights jangly Americana pop resonated far beyond Tampa Bay, earning them $20,000 in a nationwide band battle and the chance to record at Willie Nelsonäó»s ranch. Legendary local and Byrdsäó» frontman Roger McGuinn loved the Headlights so much he hired them as his backing band; together, they played for Johnny Carson and opened for acts like ZZ Top and the Dead.äó

Now you can join the celebration with Mercy McCoy and Greymarket at the Side Door at the Palladium Saturday. 8 p.m.

O Som do Jazz

Also Saturday,ξO Som Do Jazz is going to captivate at the Iberian Rooster with their unique blend of Brazilian samba, bossa nova & MPB. Starting Rio de Janeiro singer Andrea Manson, the sextet plays the best music of Brazil. Enjoy a delicious Portuguese fusion dinner upstairs, then come downstairs around 9 pm to Subcentral at the Iberian Rooster for some quality jazz.

äó†Good old boy Bill Blackburn is doing his rounds in the sunshine state, live at The Honu in Dunedin this time. So have some seafood ambrosia and enjoy your favorite acoustic version of a top 40 hit. Iäó»m sure Bill knows how to play it, anything from Eric Clapton, Hendrix or the classics to newer acts like Matchbox Twenty or White Stripes. Blackburn carries a very diverse playlist from 6 to 9 p.m.

The Neptune Lounge proudly brings the local music and an art scene together with Tarpon Spring Collective putting up a hell of a show. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. with a plethora of talent performing, including St. Pete indie äóìband of brothersäó Orion, Tarpon Springs experimental rockers Green Haven and Lil Tiny, a rap act from Spring Hill and many others. All for just a Lincoln at the door, plus unique vendors like Goat House Records.

Our friends at Black Crow Coffee Co are having a musical open mic tomorrow. They invite all musicians to come and play a bit. Thereäó»s an in-house piano, guitar and PA system. Both covers and originals are welcome, and whatäó»s better than pastries and music and good coffee? The show starts at 7 p.m.

We end with our Designated Tampa Show䋢.
