A Conversation with Jabari Reed

Filmmaker Victoria Jorgensen talks with visual artist Jabari Reed (iBOMS) about his boldly colorful work that digs deeply into darker issues like food deserts, gun violence, “destruction and discovery.”

Reed’s colorful pop art is influenced by rap culture, “old cartoons like Felix the Cat” and growing up in south St. Pete. The 20-year-old artist gives a guided tour of recent paintings, talks about his recent mural for the League of Women Voters and moving his studio to the ArtsXchange in the Warehouse Arts District.
