Job Title: Gallery and Facilities Manager
Location: Onsite/Flexible
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary Range: $53,000-$58,000k
Key Responsibilities:
The Gallery and Facilities Manager is responsible for the planning, support, and general maintenance of The Gallery and key Creative Pinellas facilities, including exhibitions, events, and other projects.
Exhibitions
- Oversee and coordinate the installation and deinstallation of artwork, including gallery repair and preparation.
- Hire and supervise temporary crews, part-time gallery employees, and/or interns.
- Schedule installation and deinstallation with exhibition artists and communicate necessary paperwork, gallery processes, and expectations.
Front of House Management
- Hire, schedule, and supervise gallery employees, including hosts, volunteers, and interns.
- Ensure a high standard of service to all visitors and educate Gallery Hosts on each exhibition.
- Maintain and expand the gallery reporting portal for accurate visitor information.
- Work with the office manager to establish and follow cash and accounting practices.
- Assist with sales functions in the Gallery, ensuring accurate pricing and representation of pieces.
Gallery and Event Facilities Management
- Ensure smooth operation of exhibitions and public-facing activities in and around the Creative Pinellas Campus.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production workspace, gallery, and event facilities.
- Address technical issues promptly and coordinate necessary tasks with appropriate personnel.
- Oversee event set-up, breakdown, and technical requirements.
- Support the Gallery Director with designing, layout, wall text placement, and lighting design.
- Manage gallery material needs, including maintenance and installation products.
Artist Relations
- Coordinate artist contracts and agreements with the Gallery Curator.
- Schedule and manage the delivery and pick-up of artworks.
- Arrange shipping and transportation when needed.
- Provide information for insurance coverage and update condition reports.
Other Duties
- Coordinate logistics for off-site installation and deinstallation, including technical needs and signage.
- Act as liaison with other venues for off-site events and programs.
- Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Gallery Curator or CEO.
Required Key Skills and Qualifications:
To thrive in this position, candidates must bring a commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and growth. Essential skills include:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gallery management, facilities management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in exhibition planning and execution, including installation and deinstallation of artwork.
- Experience in supervising and managing staff, including temporary crews, part-time employees, and interns.
- Strong background in front of house management, ensuring high standards of service and visitor engagement.
- Familiarity with cash and accounting practices in a gallery setting.
- Experience in event management, including set-up, breakdown, and technical requirements.
- Ability to coordinate artist contracts and agreements, manage delivery and pick-up of artworks, and arrange shipping and transportation.
- Knowledge of insurance coverage and condition reporting for artworks.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
