Denzel Johnson-Green is a St. Pete poet and photographer. At 22 he started taking pictures of TheStudio@620 events and street photography around downtown. Since 2018 he’s been the resident photographer for local choreographer Alex Jones, and his dance company Project ALCHEMY. At 24, Denzel created an ongoing, weekly poetry workshop called Community Poetry where everyday people ponder life and write about anything they like.
At 25 he created Neptune, a monthly poetry and art magazine made up of local poets and artists. Since 2019, Denzel has directed and co-directed poetry shows at The Studio@620 and he’s been featured in performances at Florida Craft Art, First Night in Straub Park, and the 2019 Exquisite Corpse Games.
His poems and photographs have been featured in Creative Pinellas’ “Arts Coast Journal”, “The Fantastic Other”, and “Neptune”.
