Carmen Rojas Ginés, born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, is a Sculptor, Painter, and ArtTeacher.She grew up under the creative influence of her grandmother Magdalena,a Haute Couture Designer. Graduating from the University of Puerto Rico, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Arts with a concentration in Art Education and sculpture as well as a Master in Administration of Education. Carmen worked as an Art Teacher and Director of the Plastic Arts Program at Escuela de Bellas Artes. Later, she opened her own Art School where she taught art to children and adults. For almost 20 years, Carmen has called Florida home. During this time she attended the Landscape Architecture Program at the University of Florida and more recently became a licensed welder. These experiences helped her broaden her artistic language and design knowledge, which have been implemented in her metal sculptures. She became an award winning sculptor after participating in several art contests, gallery and museum exhibits including, The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture and the Appleton Museum of Art. At the moment, Carmen works as an Art Teacher for various not for profit organizations.
