Cheers to Two Vital Arts Organizations

Both Sides of the Bay

Double the fundraisers, double the fun this Saturday, Dec. 1, at two diverse arts-centric fundraisers bookending Tampa Bay.
First, head to downtown St. Pete for the Studio Honors at Studio@620 for their annual fundraising event. This year’s focus is on Art & Architecture, and artist Ya La’ford and architect Tim Clemmons’ contributions will both be honored. Alex Jones will receive the Ola Mae Jones Award as an emerging artist in Dance, and the eclectic venue will also pay special tribute to G. David Ellis, founder of The Studio@620.
The event will begin at — when else— 6:20 p.m., and if it’s anything like past Studio Honors celebrations, it promises to be a unique and exciting reflection of the community it’s celebrating.
Later in the evening, Jobsite Rocks!, is happening on Tampa’s side of the water. The Tampa Bay award-winning theatre company’s 20th anniversary-slash-end-of-the-year party features a VIP hour, so grab your ticket early and enjoy an open bar and food starting at 7 p.m.
Attendees can bid on silent auction items like Hamilton tickets at the Straz, wax nostalgic over productions from the past two decades, get photos taken courtesy Pritchard Photography and grab a copy of the 20th anniversary Jobsite retrospective book.
For general admission ticket holders, the doors open at 8:30 p.m. Start the evening with a cash bar, free portraits, opportunity drawings, and mingling with the Jobsite ensemble members. At 9 p.m., an offbeat variety show featuring recurring Jobsite performers and friends will entertain the crowd. Click here for a list of performers.
According to Producing Artistic Director David Jenkins, the show will include “live music, comedy, stupid human tricks, not-so-stupid human tricks and much more not only from our own Jobsite Ensemble but from our friends from around the Tampa Bay area.”
