This week I’d like to take a moment to let y’all know about the Pinellas Arts Village where my studio is located. I manage the Studios@5663 at the very heart of the Village. I have 10 fabulously talented neighbors, each working in a distinctly unique style. Our resident artists are I Am Loy (Feng Shui art), Autumn Angel (Spiritual Swag), Brooklyn (Mixed Media Dreamlike Paintings and Drawings), Eric Z. Goodnight (Lowbrow Pop Art Drawing, Painting and Screen-printing), Urban Dog Studio (Pet & People Photography), Jeneca’s FantaSea (Mermaid Crowns and Shell Art), Gianna Pergamo (Vintage and Animal Inspired Mixed Media and past Emerging Artist Grantee), Van Der Luc (Futuristic/Post-Apocalyptic Visionary Art), Robert Riedel (Fantasy Art) and Lena Adeline Greenstone (Underwater Inspired Art). We also have a pretty rad art vending machine from Lucid Vending.
Spanning from 56th Street to historic Park Station you will find:
–Cove Studio and Gallery features the work of renowned muralist Derek Donnelly and a slew of guest artists.
–Pompei’s Monster Factory is filled with the otherworldly repurposed material sculptures of Vince Pompei and the whimsical and sometimes cute/creepy paintings of his wife Melissa Schultz.
–The Complete Sweet Shoppe (now featuring Mad Cow Donuts!)is a must for anyone with a sweet tooth!
–Swartz Art specializes in bright and colorful metal wall hanging and sculptures.
–Bottles Pub has you covered should you want to enjoy some craft beers or cocktails.
–Bright Ice handmade ice cream shop featuring seasonal exhibits by Village artists is coming soon!
On the fourth Saturday of each month we hold a Block pARTy! For this event we also feature guest craft vendors and artists. DJ’s (at the Monster Factory), live music (at Bottles Pub’s beer garden), and food trucks also join in the fun. Our events are free and always family and pet friendly. A great time to be had by all!
