Creative Pinellas is thrilled to invest in future Artists of Pinellas County by subsidizing their Art Camp registration fees through grants to nonprofit arts organizations.
Which Art Camps qualify?
- Be a 501(c)3, County, or Government agency/organization
- Have an active non-discrimination statement in alignment with that of Pinellas County’s
- Ensure no part of a camp experience includes religious instruction or proselytization; or lobbying
- Produce a limited-term, non-overnight art camp; in other words, camps are 1- or 2-week day camps
- Host the same campers for the entire camp session period aka not a drop-in camp
- Host a camp that is an art camp – not a camp that has some arts activities
- Conduct appropriate staff background checks regarding youth programming; and has safety policies in place regarding working with youth
How do Art Camps apply to be providers?
- Apply as a provider, by Feburary 3, 2025
- Remember to attend a 2025 Art Camp Providers Orientation with our Grants Staff prior to applying. The group orientation is set for Wednesday, December 11, 2024, Noon and is a great way to meet this requirement.
How do the Art Camps use the money?
- Funding may only be used for registration fees for camp sessions, not additional items like field trips, food, supplies, etc.
- Remember not to replace another subsidy program with this one; this one is meant to supplement your efforts
- If funds remain unused toward the end of the registration period, Creative Pinellas reserves the right to distribute additional funds to participating camps
- Because participation in camps is driven by applicant choice and funding availability, it is possible that some eligible organizations may not receive funding or may receive limited funds
How does camper registration work?
- Campers apply with Creative Pinellas
- Creative Pinellas approves grant spots and emails you the information
- An Art Camp then contacts the campers w/in 5 business days and has them register via your typical process; perhaps you create a Creative Pinellas promo code
- While rare, a camper may switch camp providers till Apr 30
- We send you the funds, planned for May – no invoicing for 2025
- You send us a registration / funds-use report in summer; and answer a survey in August
