Enjoy live music, fun and games — and bring your pup — to the American Heroes Concert. Your proceeds will help out Veterans Village USA.

Veterans Village USA has functioned as a resource for vets and much-needed last resort for homeless veterans. The 25-year-strong organization has assisted in access to medical services, education, training and job placement. In 2008, they expanded their services to provide housing. They even run an apartment complex for military personnel leaving active duty and for homeless veterans.
But, wait, that’s not all.
Now, they are building a Tiny Homes neighborhood for veterans, using shipping containers similar to this project in Kansas City.
You can attend a concert event that helps raise funds for this ingeniously beneficial endeavor. The lineup has something for just about every pop music preference and is pretty solid.
The new American Heroes Concert has set out to raise awareness and funds for veterans and first-responder service organizations that support veterans, first responders and their families. The series will premiere at Ferg’s Courtyard Downtown St. Petersburg, from 4 to 11 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6.
Its diverse lineup includes the soulful, bluesy rockers and ballads of the Chris McCarty Band, the reggae institution of Impulse, the lively, eclectic gypsy funk of Come Back Alice and Tampa’s premier deadhead ministry, Uncle John’s Band.
Featured will be a variety of games such as cornhole and human-size checkers and a giant Jenga; vendors, interactive activities, drinks, food trucks and craft vendors, and a prize drawing with thousands of dollars worth of items; as well as a play area for your dogs, so bring the pups along too. Advance ticket purchases will receive complimentary entry into prize drawing.
Event organizer CMJ Productions is an event entertainment company that provides a variety of live experiences. The event-planners coordinate everything from outdoor retail markets to large-scale outdoor fests.
General admission to the concert is $15 advance and $20 at the door, and it will take place rain or shine. VIP: $25 in advance; $30 at the door; includes early entry, hors d’oeuvres, access to full-liquor bar and servers, a BOGO drink voucher, private seating, unobstructed enjoyment in the mainstage viewing area, entry into a prize drawing and, perhaps, best of all: express restroom access.
