Sabal Palm Ink Wash Drawing
By Joseph Weinzettle
After a week of evening rains, I was able to continue drawing sessions in drier conditions. The images below demonstrate how the drawing is progressing day by day, September 1st-5th. I compose from inside-out.

I worked inside-out with the initial light wash and then back to front as I worked up the tone values. I think the sabal palms study needs one more session of work to build up tone in the foreground area. I will attempt to channel Lois Dodd and Rackstraw Downes as I work the ground cover plants.
