Friends of Brooker Creek Preserve, Inc, a nonprofit support organization of Brooker Creek Preserve, is hosting Plein Air 2022, an outdoor on-location painting event. This annual program is designed to encourage the use of the 8,700-acre Brooker Creek wilderness preserve as natural inspiration for works of art.
Visual artists of all levels are invited to participate. Artwork must be created on the Preserve grounds on April 22-23 to be included in the exhibition, Brooker Creek Preserve Plein Air 2022.
Brooker Creek Preserve is the largest natural area in Pinellas County, with forested wetlands and pine flatwoods. Bordered by dense urban development, the Preserve provides a unique refuge for native flora and fauna, and an opportunity for residents and visitors to explore the natural beauty of wild Florida.

All paperwork and completed artwork must be turned into the Friends Nature Store in the Education Building at Brooker Creek Preserve on either day of the event up until 4 p.m. Photography (with pre-approved paperwork) may be turned in Sunday, April 24 between 10 a.m. and noon at the BCP Auditorium Gallery.
Up to two presentation-ready pieces may be submitted for the competition. Works may be framed (matting if desired) or canvas wrapped and must have a wire on the back for hanging (with submission form with title, size, medium and sales price attached).

Brooker Creek Preserve Plein Air 2022 Exhibition will be on view at the Brooker Creek Auditorium Gallery April 30–May 1 and May 7–8, from 9 am – 3 pm on Saturdays and 11 am – 3 pm on Sundays. The sale of artwork is encouraged and 10% from sales is requested as a donation to the Friends of Brooker Creek Preserve, Inc.
All sold artwork is be picked up by the purchasers from the BCP Auditorium Gallery between 3–4 p.m. on Sunday, May 8. Unsold artworks must also be removed at this time by the artists.
Cost to participate is a $20 non-refundable fee to Friends of Brooker Creek Preserve. We strongly encourage early registration to assure participation. You can find a downloadable registration form here. Cash prizes for the juried show will be awarded for Best in Show ($100), First ($75), Second ($50), Third ($25) and Visitor’s Choice ($25).
