Great news about our art venue for Art Prize this fall!

I just got the word from the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum that they will be hosting my large Not #MeToo painting this September during the big Art Prize 10 competition!

Last October, when my wife and I traveled to Grand Rapids to preview some of the more than 180 venues around the city during this large art competition, the Ford Museum was the place I most wanted to show my work. I literally dreamed of having my Not #MeToo painting shown there, that’s how much I loved the place!

Now that I’ve applied for the competition, we are in the “Connections” phase of Art Prize, where artists and venues try to agree on where the individual works will be shown. I already had the honor of hearing from Western Michigan University and from the Fountain Street Church in Grand Rapids that they would have gladly shown this piece. But to hear from my top choice that they love my work is fantastic!

I appreciate that both WMU and the Fountain Street Church showed such faith in my work, and thank them wholeheartedly for their support.

However, I hope that lots of people will go see this 7-foot by 14-foot painting when it’s completed at the Ford Museum. The preview week for Art Prize begins on September 12th, and the actual voting starts on September 19th. That’s when visitors to Grand Rapids can download the Art Prize app and vote for their favorites. My piece will have the Number 66841 and I would appreciate any public votes I can get!

Art Prize winners will be announced on October 5th and the show closes on October 7th.

I will be keeping you apprised of the progress on this painting in future blog posts, so please tune in regularly! Thank you, everyone, for your support, particularly Creative Pinellas!
