Katherine Gibson (Kathy) is an independent curator and regional art consultant in St Petersburg.
In addition to finding and placing artwork for clients, Gibson works on-site to arrange client environments and install selected artwork in homes and offices through her business, ArtHouse3.
Gibson served as Gallery Director for the Dale Mabry campus art gallery of Hillsborough Community College (HCC 2011-14) rebranding it Gallery221@HCC, where she doubled the exhibition space, established a permanent art collection, and organized 30+ exhibitions.
Since then, Gibson has created pop-up galleries in Pinellas, Polk and Hillsborough counties, and has guest curated exhibits at the Morean Art Center, Florida CraftArt Gallery and the Gallery at Creative Pinellas, among others. Gibson received a St Petersburg Arts Alliance Individual Artist Award in 2018 for her Drive-by Window Project; an ArtsUp Grant for her 2019 Tongue & Groove exhibit, and a Gobioff Foundation microgrant toward her 2024 Strength of Character exhibit at Creative Pinellas.
Gibson is an occasional writer for Bay Art Files and is always looking for alternative spaces where art can be enjoyed.
