Creating patterns on used coffee filters  with stains as a starting point.

I have been drawing patterns on used coffee filters, keeping the stains that already adorn them in mind. I draw anywhere between 2-8 filters a day depending on how busy the patterns are. Some patterns are drawn with the chiseled tip of studio markers, some are drawn with fine archival markers or some are drawn with brush tips. The used coffee filters I am drawing on are either rectangular or circular. 

For the next few blog posts, I will be posting images of the filters that I have been drawing. The images are partial scans. Since they are going through another process, they may look translucent when they are in the show.
