For years I have dreamed of having a gallery space away from the studio’s dust where people can see a collection of my work in a beautiful setting. Little did I know that dream would come true and also fulfill an even greater life’s goal and purpose. A couple of years ago Dr. César Lara, a well-known medical doctor in our community wanted to realize his dream of opening an alternative healing center that focused on energy medicine in the shamanic traditions. Dr. Lara is one of the rare individuals that is both a practicing medical doctor and a shaman. He utilizes the best of both worlds for the ultimate purpose of helping his patients achieve wholeness and balance. He wanted to create a peaceful environment where the beauty of art contributed to the center’s energy and worked alongside his intentions to promote deep healing. He opened that center in Clearwater Fl. approximately 2 years ago and invited me to show my work in a space adjacent to the Qigong and meditation area. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was and what an excellent collaboration it has been! Having the visitors tell me how much they appreciate my sculptures and how it adds another dimension to their healing journey, brings me great joy!
Once upon a time, I wanted to become a doctor to help people ease their suffering. Having chosen my true calling as an artist instead I now can contribute albeit in a small way, to helping people through my art.
