Itäó»s a bit of a rare quiet week in Pinellas County äóñ by which I mean there are only two music festivals. Get outside and make the most of the moderate weather before this beautiful spring turns to summer in, roughly, two weeks.
Donäó»t Stop St. Pete Music and Arts Festival äóñ Saturday, March 25th
Donäó»t Stop looks to be a meticulously curated snapshot of St. Peteäó»s vibrant music scene. Obvious highlights include local indie faves Luxury Mane, Set and Setting, and Permanent Makeup, but there are a couple dozen other sounds to discover. The event is also raising money for People for Protecting the Peace River, and thereäó»s a Friday launch party at the Hollander Hotel.

Chazz Palminteri: A Bronx Tale äóñ Saturday, March 25th
This one-man show was the source material for Robert DeNiroäó»s 1993 directorial debut of the same title, a highly praised film which also helped launch Palminteriäó»s fim career. Itäó»s a story tangentially about the New York mob, but at its heart itäó»s a coming of
age tale and an examination of racial prejudice äóñ which, sadly, means it remains as relevant as ever. This revival of the original show may not come around again.

Pinellas Park 4th Saturday Art Walk äóñ Saturday, March 25th
This monthly wander through the blossoming Pinellas Arts Village is usually pretty low-key, but this monthäó»s has some extra pizzazz. Itäó»s a coming-out party for muralist Derek Donnellyäó»s new COVE gallery, built of repurposed and seriously jazzed-up shipping containers. Donnellyäó»s weird animals and other fanciful images are part of the Pinellas County visual landscape, and this show includes a fresh installation äóñ a.k.a. a mural inside a building äóñ by the artist.

Rock and Roll Swap Meet äóñ Sunday, March 26th
If you didnäó»t get enough music on Saturday, thereäó»s more Sunday äóñ this time, with the chance to browse a clutch of local vendors selling records, art, and threads while you rock out. Nine bands, including Rebekah Pulley and Mondo Diablo. There will also, presumably, be some tasty local brews available.

Art in Bloom Openingæ- Thursday, March 30th
Art in Bloom, now in its 20th year, is an annual short-term exhibit that has flower arrangers crafting floral homages to works in the MFA collection. There are a variety of associated high-dollar dinners and soirees for dedicated patrons, but the networking and social club New Town Connections has a limited number of more-affordable tickets for the Thursday opening of this unconventional tradition.
