Event Series Event Series (See All)

Celebrate at Pinewood (Florida Botanical Gardens, Creative Pinellas, Heritage Village) every 3rd Saturday! Free event, free parking!

At Creative Pinellas (10 am – 5 pm):

Drop into the Gallery at Creative Pinellas from 10 am to 2 pm and take inspiration from the Flora & Fauna exhibition by making your own nature-inspired artwork. This session will be focusing on a very special kind of fauna: BUGS! Design and create a range of artwork centering around bugs, from cute caterpillars to creepy-crawlers. Free to attend and fun for the whole family.

At the Florida Botanical Gardens (7 am – 5 pm):

Calling all families — Join us for a day of Coastal Fun in the Majeed Discovery Garden from 10 am-1 pm. This event teaches all about sea life and beaches. There will be special activities led by our Children’s Garden Educator and community partners: Florida Farm Bureau and FNGLA. Kona Ice will also be onsite for the event. Kids of all ages and abilities are invited to attend. For more information, visit www.flbgfoundation.org/coastalfun.

At Heritage Village (10 am – 4 pm):

Discover the magic of literature with a second edition of “Pages in the Park,” a historic book walk adventure that transforms reading into an outdoor experience. This self-guided activity will be available from 10 am to 3 pm, inviting participants of all ages to stroll through the charming pathways of the park. As you wander, you’ll find pages from a book along the pathways.

This provides an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about the significance of Juneteenth. As you read each page, you’ll uncover the rich history and cultural importance of this celebration, while learning and reflecting on the historical significance of Juneteenth.

At 1:00 pm, gather at the Band Stand for a special reading of “Juneteenth: A Children’s Story.” This live story time will bring a shared experience that emphasizes the importance of community and education.
