Creative Clay

Description

In fulfilling its vision to make the arts accessible to all, Creative Clay celebrates the art and artists who create original art.

Coined a folk-art collector’s paradise, Creative Clay’s Good Folk Gallery houses one of the largest collections of folk art in the Tampa Bay area. Creative Clay’s professional visual and performing artists provide mentorship, advocacy, and arts training for member artists with disabilities. The member artists of Creative Clay are empowered to become active, working artists who create, exhibit, and sell their artwork in the Good Folk Gallery and at venues throughout Tampa Bay. Creative Clay’s artists work in the studios daily and enjoy meeting visitors and sharing their creations.

The Community Arts Program is its core program and serves 50-60 adult artists with disabilities weekly, who create, exhibit and sell their work in its Good Folk Gallery. Member Artists’ work is also available for purchase in their virtual gallery on their website. Artists receive 50% commission on all works sold.

Creative Clay’s mission is to help people with disabilities achieve full and inclusive lives by providing expressive, educational and vocational experiences in the arts. Creative Clay also offers Artlink, an apprenticeship program, Creative Care, an arts in wellness program and Transition, a vocational arts program in partnership with the Pinellas School Board. In addition to the Good Folk Gallery, Creative Thrift is the nonprofit’s in-house store, which sells new and repurposed donated arts supplies.
