New Painting – Royal Monarch
By Steven Kenny
Commissions continue to roll in from all directions. The latest ones are from a gallery in Virginia that used to represent me when I lived there prior to 2007 when I moved to New York State.
The gallery technically has been closed for some years but the owner wisely maintained the gallery website. Someone stumbled onto my images there, contacted the gallery, and I’ve since created two small Royal Bird paintings for that client with a promise of two more in the future.
Then another client contacted the gallery and commissioned this Royal Monarch painting (above). It has yet to be shipped but the client has already expressed interest in another painting of the same size.
The moral of the story is — you never know where the next commission will come from. Especially if you maintain contact with previous galleries and clients.
One of my rules of thumb is never to burn bridges.
