On January 5, 2016 Creative Pinellas, the countyäó»s non-profit local arts agency announced that Barbara St. Clair has joined the organization as Executive Director.
St. Clair, who has held leadership positions in companies located in Pinellas County including Bright House Networks and ConMed Linvatec, brings extensive marketing and management experience to the role. She is also a professional playwright and writer whose work has been performed both locally and nationally, including at Stageworks in Tampa, Florida and at other theatrical venues around the country.
äóìBy bringing Barbara on board we believe we are getting the right mix of leadership skills and passion for the arts,äó said Nancy Loehr, President of Creative Pinellas. äóìAs an organization that is growing and redefining itself, we wanted someone who could help us to develop our vision and our brand as well as provide day-to-day leadership for our operation. Barbara brings the experience in branding and strategic marketing we are looking for to help us meet these goals. In addition, as an artist herself, she brings real world experience and insight to the creative process, which we think is invaluable for this role.äó
St. Clair joined the organization on January 4. Her office will be located at the Pinellas Convention and Visitors Bureau. According to Loehr and other Board members her priorities will include working with the CVB to create a robust arts website and app, initiating a seed grant program and establishing an educational program for artists. Additionally, one of her first projects will be to work with the Creative Pinellas Board to hold a countywide arts summit where she can introduce herself to the creative community and start a rich dialogue about what people are looking for from her and from the Creative Pinellas organization.
äóìIäó»m very pleased and excited to join Creative Pinellas and to becoming a working member and advocate of the arts in Pinellas County,äó St. Clair said. äóìI look forward to learning more about what the creative community is looking for and to earning broad-based support for Creative Pinellas in supporting those needs.äó
