In addition to my work as an artist, I have a background in marketing and currently work for Pinstripe Marketing in downtown St. Petersburg. One thing that has always been important to me is maintaining my website in order to showcase all the work I’ve done and make sure people can get in contact with me if they need to.
In the last year, I have overhauled my entire website, adding more written content and organizing my galleries in an easy to navigate format. I want visitors to get a sense of the purpose of my work in addition to the aesthetics, as I have come to embrace sustainability as a mission of my art.
To that end, I have created a homepage that states my mission and gives a taste of my work, along with a brief statement about how and why it’s sustainable. I also love to tell stories with my work, so I included a brief paragraph about why storytelling is important to me. I want people to get a sense of me as an artist on the homepage, to capture interest and encourage people to explore more.
When someone is encouraged to explore more pages of my website, they will find galleries of my projects as well as more detail about my history and vision as an artist and some background about the work. When taken as a whole, my goal is that people leave my website inspired to take more action towards a sustainable lifestyle. As I develop my body of work and continue my practice, I hope to further this mission and find more ways to inspire my audience to this end.
