All that Glitters…
. . .
There is a lot to be grateful for during the holiday season. Meanwhile, sleep deprivation coupled with a rigorous schedule, can result in losing sight of the good stuff.
The past several months have been really intense. Moving from an apartment I’ve lived in for the last three years, into my own condo in September was a whirlwind. Moving is stressful, indeed. Above all, that energy has carried over into the close of 2021. That said, I am still settling into my new home, Casa dei Sensi.

First, I work at Vista Galleries. My job there is great, and also requires stamina. Secondly, I teach classes at Beach Art Center to supplement income.
Thirdly, I paint commissions, take my Mom to physical therapy, grocery shop and do meal prep, write blogs, apply to shows and transport art to exhibits, and even attend holiday parties. I feel like I’m in a 24-hour amusement park. Consequently, even my dreams are filled with wild activity and flashing lights!
I’m overworked, over-caffeinated and exhausted. Resulting in overwhelm. “I’ll never get it all done,” says the little voice inside my head. In addition, it’s my second Christmas without Dad and my best friend, Kellie. Subsequently, I cry at random and unexpected times.
But then, shining moments occur. When they do, I am radiant and fulfilled. Glittering experiences remind me to pause, be present and breathe.
For example, being with my Mom to and from physical therapy is wonderful. Sunlight illuminating my gorgeous, lounging cats, gives me pause.
Delivering my watercolor, Fabulous Flamingos, to Tampa International Airport on Tuesday for Florida Watercolor Society at 50 Years – A Selective Retrospective exhibit, was exhilarating. (You can see all the artwork here.)
It’s an honor to be included in this show with so many esteemed watercolorists from across the state. You can visit floridawatercolorsociety.org to learn more about the FWS, which I am a proud signature member of.

I completed a new painting called, I Wanna Hold Your Hand. The art committee unanimously selected my painting for Martinis & Matisse, a fundraiser benefiting the Clearwater Free Clinic.

In summary, the bright moments, small and large, carry me.
