Lisa Rowan is a writer based in St. Petersburg. Her work explores ideas of home and the American identity, and has ranged from traditional journalism reporting to nonfiction essays and fiction.
Lisa was previously a senior writer and on-air analyst at The Penny Hoarder, where she covered the grocery and retail industries, consumer affairs, and features. She wrote more than 500 articles for the personal finance site, and in 2018 launched a weekly advice column that was syndicated by the Tampa Bay Times. Her work has appeared in various other publications including The Washington Post, Family Circle, Racked, CityLab, and the Washington City Paper.
Lisa also cohosts Pop Fashion, a top-rated weekly podcast about the business of fashion and culture. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and Georgetown University. A native of the Philadelphia area, she called Washington, D.C. home for 10 years before seeking year-round sunshine in St. Pete in 2016.
