Product Owner

REPORTS TO: Director of Creative Pinellas (Director)
Creative Pinellas is developing an online tool designed to actively connect artists and arts organizations with potential audiences, resources, and each other. We are envisioning a combination of a dynamic database that effectively collects and manages the constantly updating list of events, venues, and resources in the area, paired with a friendly and intuitive interface utilizing Machine Learning, UX and possibly NLU best practices to guide a user towards results geared specifically for their needs. We are currently looking for a project champion to lead that effort. That person is an experienced product owner with an understanding of and/or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies, knows how to discover the best practices in the field as well as the companies and organizations doing leading edge work, is able to translate the vision and goals for a product into a technical feature set/scope of work with an executable time line, milestones, and can direct and lead the entire project from planning to delivery. The ideal candidate is passionate about building products user’s love, enthusiastic about creating products that break new ground, excited by the opportunity to put data in the service of the arts community and determined to help shape the way audiences and community-based users’ access and consume information about the arts and arts opportunities.

• Function as product owner
• Translate product strategies into detailed requirements and prototypes
• Establish product vision and create buy-in, define priorities, build road map and timelines and
ensure product delivery
• Scope, prioritize, and define product features and prioritize activities and have influence and/or
control over technical decisions
• Identify, recruit and manage relationships with tech partners, consultants and associated
vendors and create and convey the vision for the project
• Drive product development by working closely with design/development teams
• Define and analyze metrics that inform the successful adoption of the product by end users
• Be responsible for product usability and user experience
• Take a holistic approach overseeing the creation and execution of UX
• Gather internal and external requirements – communicate with stakeholders and users collect
end user feedback
• Coordinate usability studies and focus groups
• Be a facilitator of communication throughout the process to internal and external stakeholders
• Lead and evangelize product strategy and vision

• Proven experience in digital product management, launch or product management, product
design experience a plus
• Track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle
• Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience in software
development and web technologies
• Ability to understand long-term business objectives and suggest technical and/or innovative
strategies to meet those objectives
• Excellent ability to both communicate technical information to lay persons and management,
and to transform ideas and vision into problem-solvable technical information for the
development/build teams
• Broad conceptual knowledge of or interest in information technologies and methodologies
• Experience, knowledge of or interest in working with AI / NLU interfaces is a plus
• Experience working in an Agile / SCRUM environment
• Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
• Experience working with enterprise customers
• Ability to create wire frames and mock ups
• Creative and detail oriented
• Leadership skills and ability

• Bachelor’s (BA or BS) in business, communications, data management, computer science, or
related field or the equivalent experience
• Two years previous experience as a product owner, business analyst or related field
• In-depth understanding of agile methodologies
• Comfortable working with in-house and remote teams
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Accurate and precise attention to detail
• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel);
working knowledge of software development
• Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with agile team, management and internal and
external stakeholders
