With a broad range of styles under his belt and an ear for jazz that spans the history of the genre, St. Petersburg-based percussionist Mark Feinman works as a freelance drummer and educator at St. Petersburg College. His performance experience includes a wide range of gigs, from private engagements and musical theater to various concert venues including a big band tour of Italy and France, with performances at the Umbria Jazz Festival in Italy and Jazz a Juan in Juan Les Pins in France. Feinman received a bachelor’s of music in Jazz Performance at SUNY Purchase in New York and a masters of music in Jazz Performance from the University of South Florida Tampa. Adjunct Drum Set Instructor at St. Petersburg College and instructor at the University of Tampa, Feinman currently presides over the Al Downing Tampa Bay Jazz Association, a nonprofit organization focused on the performance, preservation and education of Jazz in the Tampa Bay area. Feinman has performed with La Lucha, Dick Hyman, Shelly Berg, Marty Morell, Russell Malone, Howard Alden, Ken Peplowski, Harry Allen, Chuck Redd, Nate Najar, Buster Cooper, Antonio Adolfo, Freda Payne, Arturo O’Farrill and many others world renowned musicians.
