SUMMARY:Paradise Found
DESCRIPTION:Paradise Found\, Creative Pinellas’ new exhibition at Sightline Gallery at the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport\, showcases Duncan McClellan’s blown glass sculptures inspired by the nature grown at his lush gardens\, and fine art painter Carrie Jadus’ Florida Girl Series of surrealist faces composed of native flora and fauna. Convene with these works and find a slice of paradise. \nDuncan McClellan uses multiple techniques to create his blown glass sculptures including overlay\, acid etching\, fire polishing\, sand carving\, and a six-stage grinding and polishing method. He works out of his 13\,000 sq. ft. gallery\, hot shop and sculpture garden in St. Petersburg’s Warehouse Arts District. \nCarrie Jadus pivoted from a career in electrical engineering to fine art painting. Now a firmly-established artist\, she paints on a range of scales from diminutive to monumental. She owns Soft Water Gallery in St. Pete’s Warehouse Arts District. \nAbout Sightline Gallery\nSightline is a dynamic art gallery located within St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport (PIE)\, designed to connect\ntravelers with the vibrant arts community of Pinellas County. Created through a partnership with local arts agency Creative Pinellas\, the gallery transforms a high-traffic public space into a cultural destination —offering rotating exhibitions that showcase the talent and creativity of Florida-based artists. \n\n \n \n Shop the Exhibition\n \n \n Shop Now

SUMMARY:Craft Club Cinema: 'Cocoon'
DESCRIPTION:Creative Pinellas is partnering with The Common Thread Yarn Shop & Café and Green Light Cinema to bring you Craft Club Cinema\, a monthly film series for the creative\, restless\, and curious. Inspired by the growing global movement of “ADHD Cinema\,” we’re throwing out the rules of the traditional theater experience and releasing the pressure to sit still\, stare ahead and stay quiet. \nWe’ll provide lap desks and tasks lights\, and you can bring your knitting\, crocheting\, needlepoint\, quilting\, sketch pad\, adult coloring book\, etc. Enjoy your favorite classic films in an environment built just for you — lower volumes\, brighter lights\, and the freedom to multitask with crafts. \nThe third film in the series is 1985’s Cocoon\, filmed in St. Petersburg. Here’s the synopsis from Green Light Cinema: “When a group of trespassing seniors swim in a pool containing alien cocoons\, they find themselves energized with youthful vigor.” \nCraft Club Cinema is part of Creative Pinellas’ new Creative Wellbeing initiative designed to harness the power of our local cultural community to boost mental wellness\, comfort\, and joy. Whether you are neurodivergent\, a chronic multitasker\, or just someone who thrives with a project in hand\, these screenings will be your safe and fun space to create. \n\n\nShowtimes and Tickets
