SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Continuing our work to support Pinellas County artists\, Creative Pinellas is working with local arts organizations to provide Mental Health First Aid training\, an exciting opportunity for artists to become active participants in the public health of our creative community. \nThe workshops are facilitated by Love IV Lawrence\, a local foundation working to erase the stigma of mental illness and suicide\, and provided at no cost to participants thanks to Safe & Sound Hillsborough with a Love IV Lawrence grant. Each participating artist or creative will receive two hours of self-paced online content followed by five (5) hours of instructor-led training. Refreshments and lunch are included. Hospitality support provided through the generosity of Freeman Sound. \nThis training is a part of a new Creative Pinellas initiative with a key focus on the wellbeing of our local creative community. The sessions will be hosted by our arts and wellbeing partners: Lealman Exchange-March 25; Dunedin Fine Art Center-March 27; FloridaRAMA-March 28 and freeFall Theatre-March 30. (Registration links at the bottom of the page.) \nIn this one-day class\, you will learn how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use challenges\, giving you the skills to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. \nPlease join Creative Pinellas in becoming active drivers of positive mental health for our creative community. \nHere’s what the course covers: \n• Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges \n• Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges \n• How to successfully engage with a person in crisis \n• How to connect the person with help \nRegister for one of the sessions below: \n \n \n \n \n \n Mental Health First Aid Training: Lealman Exchange\n \n Posted on February 27\, 2026 by Maggie Duffy \n Creative Pinellas is partnering with local arts organizations to offer free Mental Health First Aid training for artists and creatives to recognize and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. SUMMARY:In Flying Colors
DESCRIPTION:Creative Pinellas\, in partnership with St. Pete–Clearwater International Airport (PIE)\, is proud to launch the second exhibition at the Sightline Gallery\, located at PIE. In Flying Colors invites you to experience the vibrant creativity shaping Florida’s Gulf Coast—especially here in  Pinellas County—through artists David Williams and Rebecca Zweibel\, whose work captures the region’s color\, energy\, and ever-evolving artistic spirit. \nKeep reading to learn more about the artists and purchase their artworks on view at PIE. \nPhoto by Creative Pinellas.\nDavid Williams first discovered art by copying magazine illustrations at his grandparents’ home. That early spark grew into a lifelong exploration of imagery and meaning. Today\, Williams reclaims and repurposes familiar images from advertising and media\, transforming them into reflections on the image-saturated world around us.  \nAs you move through the airport\, we invite you to spend a moment to take in the work of ceramicist Rebecca Zweibel\,  located near the entrance. Drawn first to porcelain’s smooth\, bone-like quality\, Zweibel later embraced earthenware for its warmth\, color\, and versatility. She hand-builds her vessels\, carving expressive  lines into rich red clay and layering color with underglaze terra sigillata. Always experimenting\, Zweibel lets her  imagination guide her evolving forms\, where bold marks  and sculptural presence meet. \nFlanking the display of Zweibel’s work\, you will find more artwork by Williams. \nThis exhibition reflects the collaborative work of curators Katherine Gibson of arthouse3\, and Allison McCarthy\, combining Gibson’s curatorial framework and artist selection with McCarthy’s direction in artwork selection and installation. \nFeatured Artists\n \n \n \n \n \n David Williams\n \n Posted on October 15\, 2025 by Maggie Duffy \n David Williams first discovered art by copying magazine illustrations at his grandparents’ home. SUMMARY:Visible: Seen and Heard
DESCRIPTION:Visible: Seen and Heard is a powerful exhibition exploring what it means to be noticed\, acknowledged\, and truly seen. It is a celebration of voice\, presence\, and creative renewal.\nThis exhibition was created and curated by artists Lori Vinesett\, Wendy Bruce\, Beth Belaschky\, and Katie Pavone\, who met while working as gallery hosts at Creative Pinellas. \n“Each of us arrived here after completing successful careers in other fields. In midlife and beyond\, we chose to begin again. This time\, as artists. In that shared space of transformation\, we inspired and encouraged one another to fully step into our creative identities. We were also deeply moved by the stories shared with us by gallery visitors. Stories of unfulfilled dreams and quiet hopes. In return\, we shared our own paths of reinvention\, reminding them\, and ourselves\, that it’s never too late to start over.” \nThe work featured in Visible: Seen and Heard reflects these intimate exchanges and the belief that visibility\, being seen and heard\, is not only a personal triumph but a shared human need. Through fiber art\, painting\, photography and mixed media\, the exhibition invites you to ask: What does it mean to truly be visible? And what might happen if you let your own voice be heard? \nIf we can do it\, you can do it.\nIt’s never too late to begin again.\n \n \n \n \n \n Visible: Seen and Heard Artwork\n \n Posted on by Creative Pinellas \n Add to your collection… Read More \n \n \n \nMeet the Artists\n \n \n Katie Pavone\n By Creative Pinellas \n Katie Pavone (American\, born July 1972) is a visual artist based in Clearwater\, Florida. SUMMARY:Sacred Pilgrimage: Gaudi and Galban
DESCRIPTION:Creative Pinellas and AGalban are excited to present Sacred Pilgrimage: Gaudí and Galban\, AGalban’s first ever traveling exhibition that brings together the architectural brilliance of Antoni Gaudí and the deeply personal vision of Cuban American artist AGalban. \nThis moving exhibition invites audiences on a journey that bridges continents\, creativity\, and the sacred.
