SUMMARY:Mental Health First Aid Training
DESCRIPTION:Continuing our work to support Pinellas County artists\, Creative Pinellas is working with local arts organizations to provide Mental Health First Aid training\, an exciting opportunity for artists to become active participants in the public health of our creative community. \nThe workshops are facilitated by Love IV Lawrence\, a local foundation working to erase the stigma of mental illness and suicide\, and provided at no cost to participants thanks to Safe & Sound Hillsborough with a Love IV Lawrence grant. Each participating artist or creative will receive two hours of self-paced online content followed by five (5) hours of instructor-led training. Refreshments and lunch are included. Hospitality support provided through the generosity of Freeman Sound. \nThis training is a part of a new Creative Pinellas initiative with a key focus on the wellbeing of our local creative community. The sessions will be hosted by our arts and wellbeing partners: Lealman Exchange-March 25; Dunedin Fine Art Center-March 27; FloridaRAMA-March 28 and freeFall Theatre-March 30. (Registration links at the bottom of the page.) \nIn this one-day class\, you will learn how to identify\, understand and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use challenges\, giving you the skills to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. \nPlease join Creative Pinellas in becoming active drivers of positive mental health for our creative community. \nHere’s what the course covers: \n• Common signs and symptoms of mental health challenges \n• Common signs and symptoms of substance use challenges \n• How to successfully engage with a person in crisis \n• How to connect the person with help \nRegister for one of the sessions below: \n \n \n \n \n \n Mental Health First Aid Training: Lealman Exchange\n \n Posted on February 27\, 2026 by Maggie Duffy \n Creative Pinellas is partnering with local arts organizations to offer free Mental Health First Aid training for artists and creatives to recognize and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. SUMMARY:Arts & Economic Prosperity Forum
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for a discussion with Randy Cohen\, VP of Research at Americans for the Arts\, delving into the findings of their The Arts & Economic Prosperity Survey (AEP6). This major study was released by Americans for the Arts\, a national leader in arts advocacy and data gathering. \nThe AEP6 survey provides a comprehensive analysis of the economic impact of arts and culture nonprofits in 2022\, nationally as well as specifically for Pinellas County and participating local municipalities. This study\, the sixth and latest in a series conducted over the past three decades\, is the largest and most comprehensive of its kind.\nWe are eager to share this important information about the economic impact of our arts community and look forward to seeing you there. \nRSVP Here\n \n \n \n \n \n Randy Cohen\n \n Posted on February 13\, 2024 by Creative Pinellas \n Randy Cohen is Vice President of Research at Americans for the Arts—the national advocacy organization for the arts—where he has been empowering arts advocates since 1991. It takes on a whole new meaning when we bring arts and culture into the conversation. In a field that often seems centered around scarcity\, prosperity can seem elusive and the results of our work amorphous. SUMMARY:CURRENT: Arts Coast Cultural Plan Launch
DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, hundreds of Pinellas County residents participated in our WE Convene initiative exploring the many ways that the arts support a connected and thriving world. \nWe discovered multiple examples of the way art amplifies our deeply held civic values and strengthens our bonds to each other. We examined best practices and trends in public and performing arts\, dove into accessibility\, equity\, and economic well-being for artists\, and looked at the role of both tourism and arts education in elevating our community well-being. \nWe convened\, we listened\, and we learned. \nAnd now… we are going CURRENT. \nCURRENT continues our quest to answer your questions about the needs and future aspirations of the creative community in Pinellas County\, and will result in widespread support for the equitable and vibrant development of our arts and cultural partners and Pinellas County as an arts and cultural destination for the next five to ten years. \nWe invite everyone with an interest in shaping the future of Pinellas County to lend your experience to the planning process. \nJoin us for the CURRENT Kick-off! (Free)\nDate: October 19th from\nTime: 9-11:30 am\nLocation: EpiCenter at St. Pete College13805 58th St N\, Clearwater\, FL 33760 \nRESERVE YOUR SEAT
