DESCRIPTION:Experience an environment curated by Katherine Gibson where visual and physical weight converge in a symphony of artistic expression. This exhibition will feature large-scale paintings by Edgar Sanchez Cumbas\, elegant sculptural wood pieces by Kathleen & David Bly (Jib Projects)\, and site-specific installation and assembled objects by Kendra Frorup. \nStep into a realm where the strength and character of the exhibit – both visually and structurally – is conveyed through the placement of chosen materials to not only enhance the character of each object and artwork but to create an impactful whole. SUMMARY:Artistic Discovery 2024: 13th Congressional District of Florida Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the Artistic Discovery 2024: 13th Congressional District of Florida Exhibition this Spring.\nThe Artistic Discovery 2024 – 13th Congressional District of Florida Exhibition will be held this year at the Gallery at Creative Pinellas featuring works of art by Pinellas County High School Students. Each spring\, the Congressional Institute sponsors a nationwide high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent in the nation and in each congressional district. Since the Artistic Discovery competition began in 1982\, more than 650\,000 high school students have participated. \nStudents submit entries to their representative’s office\, and panels of district artists select the winning entries. Winners are recognized both in their district and at an annual awards ceremony in Washington\, DC. The winning works are displayed for one year at the U.S. Capitol. \nThe 13th Congressional District High School Artistic Discovery Competition is presented in partnership with the Office of U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna. \nThe gallery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 10am-5pm.\nFREE and open to the public. \nEvents Surrounding Exhibition\nThere will be an Award Ceremony for the artists and their families on April 20 from 3-5pm.
