Cynthia Mason

Trained as an architect and fascinated by the overlap and edges of topographies, Cynthia Mason makes soft sculpture and mixed media constructions that scramble the spatial and material codes of painting and sculpture. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums in the United States. Mason received her MFA at the University of South Florida and BFA from Ringling College. She is the recipient of a 2019 Creative Pinellas Professional Artists Grant, an Honorable Mention in the Visual Arts by CAA, a Florida Artist Enhancement Grant and has been selected for artist residences at Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild in Woodsotck, NY; Jentel Artist Residency Program in Banner, Wyoming; Starry Night Retreat in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico; and the School of Visual Arts Summer Painting Program in New York. She currently lives and works in St Petersburg, Florida.
