Regional Arts Dialogue Report & Community Plan
We’d like to thank our community for participating in our Regional Arts Dialogue and their commitment to arts and culture in Pinellas County. We began this project as an extended dialogue in response to the successful Regional Arts Summit held in July of 2017.
Our call to the arts and cultural community to join the discussion was met with great enthusiasm. Through surveys online and on paper, in English and Spanish; through public meetings and focus groups; by way of interviews, phone calls, committee meetings, and more, we addressed the following three questions:
- What do you like about Pinellas County’s cultural life?
- What would make it even better, that is, what might bring us to the next level?
- How do we get there?
As a result of the hundreds of hours of input from many Pinellas County residents, we are excited to present the Regional Arts Dialog Report (RADR) and the community plan it captures. This plan includes 15 strategies (summarized on pages 14 and 15 of the document below) that will take Pinellas County’s Arts and Cultural community to the next level. Aligning with Pinellas County’s own strategic plan, it is built upon six pillars: (1) Encourage Creativity and Innovation; (2) Make Art and Creativity Available to All; (3) Create Vibrant Communities; (4) Build Capacity: Support Artists, Organizations and the Creative Community; (5) Promote Economic Development; and (6) Showcase Pinellas County as an Arts Destination.
Within this plan you will find detailed descriptions of each strategy, along with priority level, possible partners, expected results and models from other communities.
We are grateful to everyone who worked so hard on this project and for everyone who has participated in making Pinellas County the vibrant arts and cultural community it is today and will continue to be in the future. We hope you enjoy reading this report as much as we enjoyed hearing from our community. Have any feedback or questions for us? Please let us know! We look forward to what’s next.
