Clayton Swartz

Clayton Swartz is a sculptor who works primarily in welded metal, layered and lacquered to create colorful and vibrant pieces that blend modern abstract sensibilities with more formal subjects that often reveal an ocean life theme.

Swartz has lived in Pinellas Country most of his life. After starting his artistic pursuits as a painter at St. Petersburg College, he later moved into metal sculpting after receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Art at the University of Southern Florida.

With his wife and four children, Swartz lives and works in his Pinellas Park studio, and in 2015 he opened Swartz Gallery, to showcase his work and the work of other artists.

He has created sculptures for many area corporate and public entities, including: All Children’s Hospital, Pinellas Sun Coast Transit Authority (PSTA), Salt Rock Grill, The City of Pinellas Park, Pinellas Gateway Chamber of Commerce, and many more public and private collections in Tampa Bay and around the country.

John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital St. Petersburg

John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital St. Petersburg

I had the opportunity to create artwork for the hospital to enrich the experience of the children and visitors of the hospital. I created over 35 pieces for the hospital. Some of the artwork included ,  hearts, butterfly, pelican, balloons and ocean life scene. Outside the building in the children’s play area is a large installation of various sea life and coral. Another, special piece is a group of 3 happy children.
