Assists in the preparation and presentation of art and cultural programs and events in the community.  Works under the general supervision of the Assistant City Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

¨       Assists in the creation and implementation of the City’s public art and cultural programs.

¨       Assists in coordinating all cultural events (visual, musical, historical, theatrical arts).

¨       Serves as liaison to artists, committee members, interested citizens, and relevant organizations.

¨       Curates and hangs visual art exhibits.

¨       Coordinates arts receptions.

¨       Accesses, inputs and retrieves information from a computer.

¨       Promotes cultural events by issuing press releases, creating flyers, and distributing advertisements.

¨       Creates flyers, posters, invitations, and tickets.

¨       Develops new projects for the cultural affairs department.

¨       Transcribes, photocopies and distributes minutes, agendas, correspondence.

¨       Maintains mailing lists.

¨       Performs other clerical skills as required.
